Lloyd Dunn (nula.cc) - The hypnagogic cycles

10. 6. — 28. 8. 2022

sound gallery IGLOO
Komensky Street No. 10
Jihlava
Curator: Miloš Vojtěchovský

The installation The hypnagogic cycles takes the form of a video projection accompanied by four independent audio tracks. The video and each of the four audio sources are of different lengths, and run independently of each other, thereby minimizing how often the same combinations of specific sounds and image recur. Further, the video is often often composed of several images at the same time, in combinations of one, two, three, or more images placed side by side. This arrangement is intended to produce an inscrutable quality that invites the visitor to set aside interpretation and rational understanding.

Miroslav Hašek, Silvie Milková, Pavel Mrkus – Paradise is always a matter of choice

10. 6. — 28. 8. 2022

ALTERNATIVA
Komensky Street No. 10
Jihlava
Curator: Eva Mráziková

Undoubtedly, the year 2020 prepared a surprising life experience for each of us. This curatorial project is a kind of a result of thinking in the quarantine clause. The paths and landscapes of the artistic imagination are wide-ranging and, if they have borders, very relaxed. These fantastic environments are made up of situations, stories and images that do not seem to tell ordinary reality.

During the guided tour, PNJ therapists will provide visitors with an insight into the mental state of individual authors at the time of their creation and introduce the possibilities of using creative techniques in psychiatry.

Curator: Radek Wohlmuth

Jakub Tomáš has been exhibiting independently in the Czech Republic since 2016 (Václav Špála Gallery, Vyšehrad Gallery, Nová galerie, GHMP / Dům u Zlatého prstenu, OFF / Format Brno,…) and has had exhbitions in Great Britain, Canada, Austria and Slovakia.

Adam Hejduk - The Fragile Case

11. 3. — 29. 5. 2022

sound gallery IGLOO
Komensky Street No. 10
Jihlava
Curator: Miloš Vojtěchovský

Adam Hejduk's site-specific audiovisual installation The Fragile Case uses a plot of a fictional criminal case. The author works with the element of chance and uncertainty that evoke the atmosphere of public space, such as desolate night streets. He leaves the solution of the unknown crime and the evidence to the audience. Surround sound creates an emotional and semantic component of the installation, and as evidence, objects are also part of the acoustic space. The documentary footage was taken in Jihlava and connects the secret of possible hints into a disturbing whole.

Karíma Al-Mukhtarová, Martin Pondělíček – Extraordinary Ordinariness

25. 3. — 29. 5. 2022

ALTERNATIVA
Komensky Street No. 10
Jihlava
Curator: Adam Hnojil

Karíma Al-Mukhtarová and Martin Pondělíček get to their identities through meditative to ritual ways of their work. They find cracks in a multi-layered space and seep through them deeper and deeper. Both work tirelessly in techniques that require time, precision and patience. They push the boundaries of proven techniques. Both authors are united by the multi-layered nature of their artworks. There is irony behind the beauty, chaos behind the order, humor behind the seriousness. Due to overlapping forms, their works communicate, complement or even merge to such an extent that authorship cannot be determined.
