As part of professional education, on June 26, my colleagues and I visited, among other things, the beautiful baroque Clam-Gallas Palace in Prague. Our goal here was the exhibition of the academic painter Gustav Krum, a native of Jihlava, which was organized by the artist's family in cooperation with leading Czech collectors and admirers of the works of this well-known illustrator. This is probably the most extensive exhibition of Krum's art to date, presenting a cross-section of his painting and graphic work, found in private collections, with some works being exhibited publicly for the first time. Just like here in Jihlava, visitors to Prague can also commemorate the 100th anniversary of Krum's birth and admire his masterful talent, storytelling skills and endless imagination. The exhibition, which is on view until July 7, 2024, is also complemented by a short film documentary about Gustav Krum, and the latest publications featuring his illustrations, including the 2025 calendar, are available for purchase.

In addition to this exhibition, we did not miss the opportunity to tour the admirable premises of the palace, in which Krum's exhibition is installed. The Clam-Gallas Palace in the Old Town of Prague belongs to the most important architectural monuments of Prague and the Czech Republic. It is one of the masterpieces of Prague Baroque architecture and is a great example of period housing and the way of life of the aristocracy of that time.

We therefore highly recommend visiting this architectural gem, which now houses the Prague Museum, and taking a tour not only of the current exhibitions, but also of the representative premises of the palace with the option of using an audio guide or guided tours.
