French Metamorphoses in Telč
French Metamorphoses in Telč

An exhibition is currently underway at the Municipal Gallery „Firemen's House“, which marks the end of a month-long art residency by two French artists.

This residency, which has been held in Telč since 2019, is one of several forms of cooperation between the Vysočina Region and the French region of Grand Est. This year too, the entire stay in terms of production is ensured by our gallery, the artist Jan Vičar takes care of the artists and also the preparation of the exhibition.

This year, the duo Véronique Durazzo and Didier Ducrocq, who have been creating together since 2015, visited Telč. Their artwork includes monumental installations, video, sound art and kinetic sculpture. Their creative process is sensitive to contemporary social and political issues and is anchored in reality, inspired by moments of life, the environment, material and technical conditions. Their work reflects the ever-changing ecosystem and captures the fluidity of the world around them.

Véronique Durazzo is a visual artist. She studied, among other, at the prestigious Sorbonne University, she also has extensive teaching experience and exhibited not only in France, but also in Germany. In her current work, she mainly focuses on art installations.

Didier Ducrocq is a sound and digital artist. In the past, he worked as a musician, he plays a lot of musical instruments, was a member of several bands and is still involved in music production. In his work, he mainly focuses on video, kinetic and sound installations.

The exhibition at the Municipal Gallery „Firemen's House“ in Telč, which presents the diverse work of both artists, including graphics, photography or audiovisual installations, can be visited until July 28.
