In the Vysočina Region, the program will take place from May 3 to 5, and in addition to the Jihlava gallery, Brána Jihlavy, 8SMIČKA and the Žďár nad Sázavou Castle will also participate in it.
The Vysočina Regional Gallery in Jihlava is participating in the festival for the third time, this year we will focus on children's visitors with our program:
● On Friday, May 3, we will offer an educational program inspired by current exhibition Once upon a time for one school class. As part of the program, students will get to know contemporary female artists, who in their work mainly focus on pictorial stories. The workshop will be led by gallery educator Pavlína Pitrová.
● On Saturday, May 4, a workshop for children from 8 years of age will take place with the artist Eva Volfová. She works primarily with various textile materials, which she combines with threads, from which she creates embroidered stories.
● On Sunday, May 5, those interested can then look forward to a workshop for families with children led by gallery educator Pavlína Pitrová. It will also take place in the premises of the current exhibition Once upon a time.
Entry to events is free, but capacity is limited and advance registration is required.
➤ Festival of art and creativity in education
For several years now, the festival has been showing how to change the standard education system in practice and to support children in developing their thinking in a creative way. How to involve them in teaching so that they use their imagination? How to use their ideas and their own creativity directly in teaching? And can children themselves change the education system? Or their parents? These are just some of the questions that the festival can offer an answer to. Learning through art and artistic thinking is an effective way to prepare for the challenges of the present and future world. It creates a non-competitive and stimulating environment that supports the joy of learning, develops different ways of learning and perception, and opens up space for co-creating values.
The fourth year of the festival, which is organized by the uMĚNÍM platform in cooperation with dozens of cultural and educational organizations, will take place from April 20 to 28, 2024 in Prague and will then tour the regions of the Czech Republic until June 2. It is intended for educators, parents, children, but also cultural professionals and the professional public.
In 2024, the festival focuses on the diversity of approaches and the development of competences in creative learning. In individual formats, it emphasizes the current topics of well-being, the digital world, mental health, identity and internal motivation for learning and personality development. The first days of the festival are focused on individual target groups. The program for the professional public will be attended by a foreign delegation from Wales, who will show, through concrete information and data, what effects art and creativity can have on the education system. For the first time, a conference for educators focused on digital technologies and well-being will take place within the framework of the festival.
The festival in Prague is followed by regional festivals that run until June 2, 2024 throughout the Czech Republic. As part of the festival, teachers and the public are presented with MAPA uMĚNÍM, which is the largest offer of creative education programs in one place.
