The DOX Center for Contemporary Art in Prague is once again organizing the Festival of Art and Creativity - simply FUK.

Since September 2021, an art course for adults has been taking place in the Vysočina Regional Gallery. Last year, the course was divided into six lessons, which took place from September to December.

And we have another holiday - New Year's Day. January 1 is traditionally understood as a celebration of the beginning of the new year. On this date, the year began according to the so-called Julian calendar introduced in Rome in 45 BC by Julius Caesar.

The topic of return can be viewed from many angles. Returning home or to a loved one, as in the case of the biblical story of a lost son, returning to important values, returning the soul back to the Creator, to the Earth.

Carol, carol, Stephen, what are you carrying in the jug… comes to mind to many of us in connection with today. However, the room in the picture witnessed more dignified compositions like "Jesus was born" or "God bless that house."

Today is Christmas Day, the most important day for Christians during Christmas period. We commemorate this holiday with a woodcut "Nativity of Jesus" by the Czech painter and graphic artist Karel Němec (October 25, 1879 - June 17, 1960), whose life and work were closely connected with Nové Město na Moravě, where he was born and died.

We wish you a joyous Christmas Day, which completes the Advent season on the eve of the Lord's birth. The evening is a magical time for traditional customs, carols and gifts. The coming Christmas holidays are a widespread celebration of peace, compassion, family and love around the world, connecting people of different religions and atheists. Every year, the Bible story inspires to help those in need: people who are lonely, sick and otherwise suffering, or those who live in material need.

KEP is an abbreviation for the Chamber of Educators (Komora Edukačních Pracovníků), which is part of the Council of Galleries of Czech Republic and has been operating within this organization for 17 years. Just as the directors and curators of Czech galleries meet regularly, so do the educators. The name educator in culture is understood as the one who educates, in our case in an art gallery or museum. Meetings take place regularly, every year in two to three different galleries, as stated in the statutes of the Council. These meetings are often very beneficial for all members of KEP.

We met Jiří Příhoda in the Jihlava gallery, when he was preparing the visual style of the exhibition by Adriena Šimotová and Jiří John. This was followed by work correspondence and communication by e-mail (graphics for the Jihlava exhibition were created across the Atlantic). The demanding exhibition project was interrupted by the first anti-pandemic measures. The situation has changed and has not changed since the spring of 2020. Correspondence also takes place between two continents, with the difference that Jiří Příhoda has been spending a year in lock-down, as is already said in the Czech lands. "Now I am more worried about you at home," writes Jiří Příhoda in one of the March e-mails, "What the hell is going on there?" The world's media reflect the culminating epidemiological situation in our country.
