In the week from July 22 to 28, the fifth annual Summer Art Plein Air took place in Přibyslav. Ten artists accepted the invitation to create for a week in this picturesque town in the district of Havlíčkův Brod, and were traditionally joined by the organizer of the event himself – a Vysočina native painter, and our former colleague, Jaroslav Grodl.
During plein air, artists paint outdoors, either directly in the city or in its immediate surroundings. This year, they also spent one day at the local municipal office, so you can see a number of portraits of Přibyslav officials at the exhibition.
The plein air week traditionally ends with an exhibition in the Janáček Gallery in Přibyslav, which was ceremonially opened on Saturday, July 27 with a large number of participants and will last until August 17.
Under normal circumstances, the exhibition would move to the premises of our gallery building on Masaryk Square in September, as was the case in previous years as well. Unfortunately, the ongoing renovation does not allow this, so you have the only possibility to see the works created during this year's plein air together in Přibyslav.
