His life and work are mainly connected with two places that he loved during his life, where he liked to stay and work - the village of Benecko in the Krkonoše Mountains and the village of Křižánky in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. František Cína Jelínek was primarily a landscape painter. He liked to paint in nature, especially typical moody motifs in the spirit of romantic realism, depicting the summer and winter landscape.

A frequent motif of his paintings are timbered cottages, such as the small undated oil " Cottages in winter", from the property of the Vysočina Regional Gallery in Jihlava, which is a typical example of the painter's work. František Jelínek consistently signed his works with the added nickname "Cína", which was created during his academic studies. He was a member of the Union of Fine Artists, whose member exhibitions he regularly participated in.
